Hi! My name is Shalini Verghese!
I graduated with my Masters in Psychology (WCC- Chennai, India) and Counseling (GCTS, MA, USA). I then went on to get trained and certified as a Personal Trainer (NCCPT, NASM), Pre & Post Natal Fitness Specialist (PROnatal Fitness) , Health and Wellness Coach (Wellcoaches) and Nutrition Coach (PN1- L1). Combining my Psychology, Counseling and Seminary background, with Personal Training and Health, Wellness and Nutrition Coaching has enabled me to serve and help women change their lives as a Personal Trainer and a Christian Faith – Based Wellness/Nutrition Coach.

I am married to Jacob, and we have 3 kiddos ranging from ages 19 to 13. We live in Massachusetts, USA. Together we muddle our way through life, guided by our faith, love for family, friendships and in my case, fitness.
About 20 years ago I discovered exercise. I was “playing” tennis one summer (mostly running behind the ball to pick it up!!) and found myself losing weight!! It might seem odd that I was so shocked by that, but I was!! As long as I remember I had wanted to lose weight – and here it was happening while I was having fun!!
Then when I had my first baby, I went to the gym quite regularly and came to realize that while yes, I wanted to lose the “baby weight”, what became more important was the cathartic benefits I experienced from those workouts.
I have come a long way since then. I have come to appreciate how amazing our bodies are, and how incredibly God has created them to function. So, now for me personally, it’s no longer all about weight, but taking care of my body- by fueling it well, staying active, getting rest and managing stressors. These are all part of giving my body the opportunity to work the way it is designed to.
My passion is helping women discover their value and how to take care of their whole self – body, mind, and spirit.

Shalini has been great with helping me get into a regular exercise routine and discipline. She patiently listened to my goals at first and developed a plan that would suit my physical needs as well as my schedule as a busy working mom. She is extremely encouraging – celebrating progress and the small wins but is also astute in knowing when to push and challenge me further.
